Tip Top Counter Top Basin Ideas

A counter-top basin makes an exceptionally stylish statement in the bathroom. Counter-top styles sit on the top of the surface, allowing the shape of the bowl to be seen and admired. We’ve got round ones, square ones and oval ones, so there are plenty of options to create a fabulous focal point in the new bathroom!

1 – The Perfect Round

The simplicity of this combination of our Louisiana Round Corner Top Basin with matt black fittings and a black counter-top is perfect. Black and white create a scheme that can be given an injection of colour using plants, towels, flowers and accessories, if you fancy a different look. The ceramic basin also comes in Matt Black and Cement Grey, and measures 355mm across. It has no overflow, so needs an un-slotted waste, and is shown here with our Trent Matt Black Wall Mounted Basin Mixer Taps.

3 – The Oval Bowl

The Colorado Oval Counter Tap basin has that lovely traditional ‘bowl’ shape which is reminiscent of old-fashioned china bowls perched on a traditional washstand – but this is the contemporary version. The Colorado bowl measures 410x340mm and stands just 150mm high. It can be used with a tall deck-mounted tap or wall taps to give height to the look, and is shown here with our Eden Chrome Waterfall High Rise Basin Mixer Tap. 4 – The Black Basin

Our Dakota range of basins are probably the most unusual designs in our basin collection, with a slender construction, which makes them look all the more elegant and sophisticated. This is the Dakota Matt Black Oval model, which looks absolutely stunning with Trent Matt Black Wall Mounted Basin Mixer Taps. As we’ve mentioned before, a black and white scheme always looks outstanding, and this definitely no exception. The Dakota oval basin also comes in White, and measures 525x303mm. There’s no overflow, so the Dakota designs need an unslotted basin waste.

5 – The Straight Rectangular Basin

We love the generous dimensions of this rectangular counter-top basin. It’s our Newark design, measuring a rather useful 615x351mm, and it’s 110mm high. It also comes in Matt Black which is a very dramatic look. It can be installed with wall-mounted or counter-top taps – check the depth of the counter-top itself though. And it’s just a thought, but this basin would be perfect for standing any bathroom plants in to soak as it has a perfectly flat base…

6 – A Pair of Curved Counter Top Basins

Another look at our Curved Counter Top Basins, this time in a rather more traditional setting, teamed here with the Lucia Double Vanity unit, which has a marble top. A pair of basins does make life easier in a family bathroom, and the counter-top space is always useful and helps ensure the bathroom can stay neat and tidy. And there’s all that cupboard space too – so there’s really no excuse for the new bathroom to get cluttered!

Our Oval Counter Top Basin looks happily at home when teamed with the 600mm wide Bermuda Chalk White Vanity, with chrome taps and fittings. The traditional look is enhanced by the striking contrast of the pale cabinet standing against off-black painted wall panelling. Our Carrara marble-style counter top-surfaces are durable and easy to maintain, just like the ceramic basins.
