A cloakroom is often squeezed into a rather small space… perhaps under the stairs, or alongside a utility room. So it’s super important that that small space has a big style! Here are some of our favourite cloakroom decor ideas that will transform the smallest of rooms.
1 – The Compact Round Basin
A round bathroom basin is a pleasing shape and could also be positioned in a corner position to make best use of space. Our Louisiana Round Counter Top basin is just 355mm diameter, which makes it a good size for a cloakroom – but it’s still roomy and allows proper hand-washing. Shown here with black waste and Trent Matt Black Wall Mounted Basin Mixer Tap. The basin can also be used with regular pillar or mixer taps mounted onto the counter top.
2 – Back to Wall WC + Wall Hung Cabinets
Make the most of a small cloakroom space by choosing a neat back to wall WC, which keeps the floor area neat and easy to keep clean. This Gloss White back to wall unit is just 500mm wide, standard widths are usually 600mm wide so this is a good option for a small space. Wall hung cabinets provide welcome storage, but at the same time keep the look streamlined and the floor clear. This layout would suit a long, narrow room – the WC unit at the narrow end and the vanity unit positioned on the longer walls.
3 – A Combination Unit
As far as cloakroom decor ideas are concerned, a combination unit is one of the best… it’s compact, neat, and keeps all the plumbing requirement s close together. Our Bermuda Midnight Green Combination measure 1100mm wide, which is under the 2x600mm that is usually allowed for positioning a WC and a basin. Make the most of a small space with a combination unit, which looks practical and presentable, as well as offering storage space and a little bit of surface display space too.
4 – A Corner Cabinet
Keep it compact with a corner unit, which is one of the cloakroom decor ideas you’ll find for a space saving layout. This is our pretty Lucia Basin Vanity, in chalk white, with Chrome accents. It’s also available in in Graphite Grey and Dove Grey, and with brass accents. The integral ceramic basin has a small upstand, and each corner length is 400mm, so it really will make the most of a small space cloakroom.
5 – Add a Mirror
This stylish choice is the perfect combination of an illuminated mirror cabinet, which is our Mollie Matt Brass Round Design, with a two-drawer Elba Midnight Green Wall Hung Basin vanity. The look remains neat and streamlined, as small toiletries and make-up can be stored neatly away in the cabinet, which has an integrated demister pad to keep the glass clear, as well as a shaver socket. White marble porcelain wall tiles, such as Place White Marble Effect Wall Tiles from Tile Mountain maintain the airy and spacious look in a small space.
6 – Go For 500mm Width Cabinets
Choose a 500mm wide basin cabinet for a really small space. This is our Harper Stone Grey Vanity with a gloss finish, and a Semi Recessed basin. This is another idea that has the best of both worlds – a good sized basin, plus storage cabinet. Harper cabinets are also available in Gloss White and Charcoal Elm. so there are colour options for plenty of creative design opportunities. We love the way this sleek cabinet is teamed with natural brickwork for an industrial-style look.
7 – Include a Narrow Wall Cabinet
Any bathroom design expert will always try to provide storage space within a new bathroom, especially in smaller spaces, such as a cloakroom. Our Corsica Bali Gloss White Wall Hung Tall Cabinet measures just 350mm wide and 1400mm tall, but will definitely ensure a small cloakroom stays tidy, thanks to the amount of ‘stuff’ that can be stashed away. An all-white colour scheme will enhance the feeling of space in a small room too…
8 – Add a Tiny Basin
This tiny basin will make all the difference to a tiny cloakroom! It’s our Virginia Square Wall Hung Cloakroom Basin, which measures 120mm H x 340mm W x 290mm D. It has exposed fittings as shown here, but can also be installed within a cabinet. You’ll need to purchase a tap separately, here we’ve teamed it with our Soar Chrome Cloakroom Basin Mixer Tap for a crisp, stylish look.
