The three crucial items in a bathroom are the bath, the sink (or basin) and the shower. This time we’re going to help you choose the best bathroom sink for you and your family’s needs.
1 – Wall Hung Basin Drawer Vanity
This sink ticks lots of boxes… It’s our Elba Midnight Green Wall Hung Basin Drawer Vanity, so it’s neat, simply designed, easy to keep clean, has a little bit of surface space around the sink itself plus some lovely storage in the drawers too. The basin is smooth ceramic, and the whole unit is just 400mm deep, so is a good choice for smaller bathrooms too, as well as fulfilling the needs of a family bathroom.
2 – Counter Top with Wide Vanity
A round counter top basin, shown here with our Lucia Graphite Grey Vanity, is a very apt choice for a traditional bathroom design. These choices have all the trappings of modern style, but with a classic look. The Lucia Vanity provides under-counter storage, and the back to wall toilet is neatly surrounded by a matching graphite grey cabinet. The round counter top basin looks elegant with the marble-style surface, especially when teamed with the tall gold tap, and of course, the wall cabinet provides extra storage for all those bits and bobs.
3 – Contemporary Wide Wall Hung Basin Drawer
Make a very stylish statement in a modern bathroom with our Trent Stone Grey Wall Hung Basin Drawer unit. At 800mm wide the drawer will definitely hold a whole lot of toiletries, and the wide sink provides enough elbow room for parents to supervise little ones washing their hands and cleaning their teeth! The ceramic basin can be teamed with any of our basin mixer taps, here it’s shown with the Soar Chrome Basin Mixer Tap. For slightly smaller rooms, this unit is also available in the standard 600mm width – which is still a perfectly good size for a family bathroom.
4 – A Combined Vanity Basin + WC Basin Unit
Keep everything neat and tidy with this combination. It’s the Foster Gloss White Vanity Basin with a marble-style top, and the neat back to wall Denver toiler. The overhanging semi-recessed sink looks ultra-modern and stylish, whilst providing spacious hand and face washing facilities, A combined unit is space-saving, as there’s no need to allow gaps between the cabinets, and it also offers a cohesive look for both large and small spaces. The total width here is 1200mm, and the cabinets are just 325mm deep.
5 – Choose a Pair of Sinks
This is a luxury choice, and just right for a family bathroom or a spa-style en-suite. Two beautiful basins, a marble-look counter top and four storage drawers will definitely provide everything a new and stylish bathroom needs. Here, the scheme is highlighted with gold handles for the cabinetry, gold taps and gold basin wastes. This is our Elba Midnight Green Vanity, with a pair of Curved Basins. Other options are available, so you could go for black or chrome finishes for a slightly different look. But remember, two sinks are the way to go for double luxury…
6 – Choose a Traditional Bathroom Pedestal Sink
A classic pedestal bathroom sink is a straightforward choice, and often a good idea if you’re revamping an older bathroom and want to stick to a similar layout and traditional looks. Classic pedestal basin styles have surface space either side of the tap, so the soap dish or shaving brush can be left to dry out. This is our Hudson Traditional Basin with a single tap hole, plus elegant details on the edges of the basin and the bottom of the pedestal. The Tap is our Nene Traditional Chrome Basin Mixer Tap with white ceramic Hot and Cold buttons for perfect period style. Of course, pipes and fittings are hidden behind the pedestal.
7 – Consider a Contemporary Pedestal Sink
For simply stylish contemporary looks, at a very affordable price, your new bathroom sink could be the Portland Square Pedestal design, which is 570mm wide, has smooth clean lines, and a striking square pedestal. If you want an understated design that will do it’s job perfectly whilst allowing other decorative details to stand out – such as the wall and floors tiles – this is a great choice. Shown here with the stunning Avon Chrome Waterfall Basin Mixer Tap.
8 – Go for a Striking Black Basin
What could be more innovative and striking than our Dakota Matt Black Oval basin, which is styled here with matching Trent Matt Black Wall Mounted Basin Mixer Taps. The basin could also be teamed with deck mounted taps. If you prefer a slightly less dramatic statement look, consider this Dakota basin in White, but still teamed with black taps and waste. And if you’re definitely stuck on a black bathroom sink, we also have the Carolina curved rectangular, the Louisiana 355mm round, the Cleveland 465mm rectangular and the larger Newark 615mm rectangular versions.
