Information we receive from other sources

To ensure that anyone receiving our marketing will find it relevant (e.g. by including details of products that will be of most interest), we may obtain personal information about you from one or more data providers. For example, our data provider provides us with addresses for households that are contemplating (or have already) moved to a new home and we (via our mailing processor) marketing with relevant products by post to these addresses.

Our data providers are separate companies and controllers, which means they are responsible to you for the information they collect about you in their databases, which they use to provide services to different customers. Once they share that information with us, we will be responsible as the controller of your information that we hold and use. We may also share data with our data providers to measure the effectiveness of our marketing efforts. For example, we share with a third party, your postal address (but not your name or other contact details) from orders placed with us during the time we were running a particular marketing campaign so that the third party can report to us on which of our sales may have resulted from that campaign. We then use these to create aggregated reports to evaluate the overall success of a campaign. If our data providers perform a matching process specifically for us, then we will be the responsible controllers of that processing as they will be working to our specific instructions.

We rely on our legitimate interest as a business to process your personal information which we receive and share with our data providers, namely that the processing is necessary for us to promote our business, brands and products and to measure the reach and effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. You have the right to object to this processing at any time. Please see Your rights below for further information regarding your rights and how to exercise them.
